Heaven In Your Eyes
Three weeks later…
It was nearing noon at the medical facility. Thomas and Ashima were tucked up close to each other in his room; their hushed whispers the only sound that could be heard as they desperately fought ag
Forever Now, And All Over Again: Part 10It was several hours later and already getting dark again when Ashima’s eyes slowly opened. Her eyelids were so heavy she had to blink several times just to get them to open fully. She looked around in the dusky glow, not quite remembering where she was but definitely considering just letting her eyes close again to the sleep that wanted to reclaim her. She yawned, and was surprised when a stinging pain shot through her cheek as she stretched her mouth open. She closed her eyes, gingerly running her tongue over the painful area and felt a small little indent amidst the smoothness on the inside. ‘What is that’ she puzzled. “No, he didn’t elaborate. I told him he asked for her and he said that he’d bring her. That was it. Why?”
“Oh, I don’t know. Just the way he acted. Something…in the way he cried…” he blinked in thought. “Ah, well. It was more than likely nothing” he said passively, taking another sip from his mug.
“I’d bet my entire year’s salary that it was nothing. That’s how positive I am” Dr. Carson chuckled boldly. “Don’t even go down that road again. We’ve bee
